Under the direction of the Senior Director, Finance, the Fixed Asset Accountant is primarily responsible for timely and accurate accounting of the Company’s fixed asset information. This position will also serve as a liaison between the Finance department and other responsible departments to facilitate exchange of information, coordination of processes and understanding of financial results, specifically in relation to Capital Projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze and communicate complex fixed asset information to individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Lead capital request project review to ensure accuracy and drive approval cadence. Maintain and enhance current fixed asset approval forms.
- Work cross-functionally with various departments to understand complex project acquisitions.
- Coordinate with project managers and internal stakeholders on capital spend for future forecasting, developing relevant metrics for Construction in Process and fixed asset reporting.
- Review capital requests to validate projects are in compliance with capital requirements and determine accounting treatment, including capitalization vs expense.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting and 3+ years of fixed asset experience in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA and/or CPA preferred, but not required.
NorthStar Medical Radioisotopes is headquartered in Beloit, Wis. This location is our primary manufacturing site and accommodates all of our corporate functions. Beloit has small city charm, with a lively and renovated downtown, yet is also close to cities such as Madison, Milwaukee, Chicago, and Rockford.
