NorthStar develops, manufactures and distributes radioisotopes that are used daily for patients needing medically important diagnostic imaging tests. Our novel, high technology approaches have enabled NorthStar to be the first company in nearly 30 years to produce the radioisotope Mo-99 in the United States. NorthStar’s processes are non-uranium based and designed to help minimize waste while meeting the highest quality standards. The Mo-99 is used in NorthStar’s RadioGenix® System, an isotope separation platform used by radiopharmacies across the country to produce the imaging radioisotope Tc-99m. NorthStar will scale-up production over the coming months and years and intends to become the industry’s market leader. Manager, Facilities and Capital Project will be responsible for managing multiple greenfield manufacturing plant construction projects regulated by pharmaceutical standards. These facilities will include processes such as drug formulation and filling, packaging, medical device assembly, as well as particle accelerator-based processing. In addition this role will oversee the facility management of our existing manufacturing and R&D facilities.  The successful candidate will bring the structure and rigor associated with a large organization while being able to function in a smaller, more hands-on environment. This leader will be a key member of the engineering organization leadership team.


  • Responsible for the development and execution of construction projects, including setting requirements, cost estimating, budgeting, selection/management of engineering and construction contractors, evaluating bids, design drawings, and implementing change control.
  • Establishing and coordinating project management tools for capital building projects, as well as managing subordinates in maintaining project tracking tools.
  • Lead the resource planning, hiring, and supervision of direct reports. Training and mentoring a dedicated team of engineers and related professionals.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Architecture and a minimum of 5 years of experience in facility construction, preferably in a medical or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment and 3 years of management experience.
  • Experience working with FDA regulations, GMP manufacturing requirements, and radioactive processing preferred.
