Responsible for routine (microbiology/chemistry) laboratory support in one of NorthStar’s cGMP laboratories. A successful candidate should be able to work independently to execute released protocols for material testing, maintain the laboratory space to cGMP standards, create and document standard laboratory solutions, and assist in the maintenance and calibration of analytical equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the operation, maintenance, and calibration of equipment belonging to the microbiology laboratory, including but not limited to: pipettes, balances, ATC Probe, TSB and FTM Media manufacturing, sonicator, waterbath, and isolator.
- Support engineering’s material compatibility program, which may include executing released protocols, use of analytical instrumentation, and preparation of samples for US Pharmacopeia in-vitro testing.
- Perform neutralizations and dialysis on solutions utilizing strong acids and bases.
- Maintenance of the microbiology lab including routine lab cleaning, and organization and tracking of laboratory consumables.
Associate’s degree or equivalent in Medical Laboratory Technician, Chemistry, Microbiology (or related physical science) required. 2+ years of laboratory experience in an analytical / chemistry laboratory making cGMP / GLP measurements is desired.
